NOTES FROM THE PRESIDENT
Spring is here! The NBA and Niwot have Sprung into Spring, and there are many upcoming events to encourage patrons to all of the NBA’s businesses. From the House Blend Band Series to Rock & Rails to festivals from Spring thru Fall, the streets of Niwot will have lots of local and far away patrons.
The NBA Exec Board is addressing concerns about the Unincorporated Boulder County Minimum Wage Increase. A committee has been formed and has met multiple times with Boulder County Commissioners. The NBA has asked the Commissioners to put Unincorporated Boulder County on the lowest and least frequent of the tiers of minimum wage increases. The NBA Exec Board has also partnered with Boulder County to try to improve and shape the proposed $5000 per business and this program was rolled out last week. You all received an email about this.
NOTES FROM THE VICE PRESIDENT
Great start to the year with lots of events well attended with fabulous participation from the business community. The next event in planning is the Around the World day on April 27th- we already have 15 businesses signed up and more to follow. We are looking to incorporate even more outdoor entertainment around town and welcome anyone’s ideas.

The meeting schedule has been emailed to you each, and please reach out to [email protected] if you wish a paper copy. It is also listed below.
For 2024, some meetings will be at Niwot Grange and will have NBA businesses sponsoring the meeting. This will allow some businesses to be showcased that cannot host due to their size or location and will allow some businesses to pair up for sponsoring. I am still looking for sponsors for many months for 2024! Please volunteer!
For 2024, there will NOT be a monthly report sent to NBA members and a QUARTERLY REPORT will be sent to each NBA member instead. Monthly meetings will be used to discuss a topic relevant to all businesses, and there will be time for NBA members to ask questions. Future topics include discussing how to help businesses come up with a plan for the increase in minimum wage and how to manage FAMLI, as well as business motivational speakers and how to get rebates from Boulder County for your business.
If you have a topic that you would like discussed, or if you would like to be a speaker, please reach out to [email protected].

The marketing committee continues to meet every other Friday at 9am at Deb Fowler’s office. The 2024 marketing budget has been finalized and approved at $29,000 which is $11,000 less than last year. This year we are focusing more on digital and social media ads and less in print marketing. Advertising in the Left Hand courier and Scout Guide ( 1 page instead of 2 pages) are the only in print advertising budgeted for 2024. We are also working closely with the Innovation center to produce some updated videography for the town. Event surveys have been developed and shared to gain more information from businesses and community members in order to better tailor our marketing.
We are now up to nearly 2,600 subscribers for our weekly email! If you have any email addresses to share, please forward them to [email protected]
