About Mandy Walker
Mandy Walker has one of the top divorce support blogs in nation – Since My Divorce – and provides divorce-related guidance and support to thousands of people every week. Through the sharing of other peoples’ divorce experiences she presents a divorce model that is very different from the conflict model favored by so much of the media. While ending any marriage is painful and disagreement is part of the territory, it is possible to do this with dignity and self-respect.
To date Mandy has interviewed over a hundred people about their divorce experience and continues with her interviews. She’s now taken the collective wisdom from these interviews and created her own online, self-paced divorce coaching program, My Divorce Pal.
English by birth, Mandy studied Business Administration at the University of Bath, England. In 1986 she emigrated to the United States and spent the next twenty years working in financial services. Of the many hats Mandy wore during that time, she was responsible for handling formal customer complaints and major service resolution issues giving her a solid foundation in dispute resolution.
With a change of career in mind, Mandy graduated in 2008 with a Masters in Journalism from the University of Colorado at Boulder. While pursuing her journalism studies, Mandy and her husband of seventeen years divorced and it was that experience that led to Mandy’s new career as a divorce coach and mediator.
Mandy is a professional member of the Mediation Association of Colorado, the Boulder County Bar Association and also serves on the Board at Children First of The Rockies, a non-profit that provides safe exchanges and supervised visits for children on the Front Range in Colorado. She is also a volunteer mediator with Jefferson County and the 20th Judicial District with Boulder County.
